Recently I’ve deployed one of my ASP.Net projects to a shared host, and found that AJAX Control Toolkit stopped working. No errors or exceptions visible on screen, but control extensions just stopped functioning.
I did some debugging and found that it was coming up with an error –
ScriptResource.axd: Failed to load resource: the server responded with status of 404 (not found) .
Solution is to add a handler in web.config, under <system.webserver>.
<system.webserver> <handlers> <add name="ScriptResource" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="GET,HEAD" path="ScriptResource.axd" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" /> </handlers> </system.webserver>
