Recently I’ve deployed one of my ASP.Net projects to a shared host, and found that AJAX Control Toolkit stopped working. No errors or exceptions visible on screen, but control extensions just stopped functioning.
I did some debugging and found that it was coming up with an error –
ScriptResource.axd: Failed to load resource: the server responded with status of 404 (not found) .
Solution is to add a handler in web.config, under <system.webserver>.
<add name="ScriptResource" preCondition="integratedMode"
Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" />
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a tool for removing malicious software from your Windows based PC. It comes in two versions – Free and PRO.
I have successfully used free version in the past to remove malicious files from several computers, where some of the other anti-virus / anti-malware products have failed.
In my experience it has great detection and removal capabilities, much better than most of the other free anti-malware tools that I have tried so far.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free version includes following features:
- Advanced malware detection and removal
- Rapid response malware database and heuristics updates
- Access to support team through email and forums
- Multi-language support
PRO version, in addition to above, includes:
- Real-time active prevention
- Heuristic protection
- Malicious website protection
- Automatic priority updates
- Scheduled scanning
- Fast flash scans

Today I installed Windows 8 Developer Preview edition on VirtualBox on my MacBook Pro.
You can get ISO file from Microsoft’s website.
If you are installing under VirtualBox, make sure you have the latest version (as the setup may hang in older versions). Also enable IO APIC option under Settings -> System -> Motherboard tab. Get VirtualBox.
Here is a gallery of installation process and Windows 8 after installation.
IDrive is an online backup service for PCs, Macs and smartphones (such as iPhone and Android).
Basic plan (IDrive Basic) gives you 5GB of online storage for free – which is very generous compared to some of the other online backup services.
Once you create a new account, select which platform you use (Windows or Mac) and download and install client for the selected platform. Installation and setup were pretty straight forward, and I was ready to start backing up within minutes of registration. After selecting files and folders I wanted to backup online, upload started, files were transferred to the online backup server and that was it – all done. You can also install a free iPhone app that allows you to browse and view your backed up files on your phone – very handy.
Some of the features of IDrive:
- Open / locked file backup
- Mapped drive backup
- IDrive explorer
- Web based backup management

Overall very easy to use backup solution, and free plan (5GB) should be enough for most users. Now there is no excuse for not backing up those important documents.
